Teaching Artist

I am a teaching artist based in Brooklyn, New York.

As an instructor with The Educational Video Center, I design and teach hands-on documentary filmmaking workshops in public schools across all five boroughs of New York City, fostering skills in creative expression, media literacy, digital technology and film production, teamwork, rhetoric, storytelling, public speaking, and engagement with social justice issues through the medium of documentary filmmaking. The Educational Video Center (EVC) is an award-winning non-profit media organization dedicated to teaching documentary filmmaking to young people.

During my tenure with EVC, I have worked with hundreds of students across a wide variety of schools throughout all five boroughs of New York City, including but not limited to Bronx Early College Academy, High School of Art & Design, New Millennium Bronx Academy of The Arts, Midwood High School, Bronx High School For Violin and Dance, Judith S. Kaye High School, The School of Cooperative Technical Education, Concord High School, Innovation Diploma Plus, and so many more.

I have also worked as a Teaching Artist for Adult Education Downtown Community Television (DCTV), New York City's preeminent community of and for documentary film & storytelling since 1972, as well as a Teaching Assistant for upper-level film production courses at Boston University, and as a film instructor at various summer camps in New York and Massachusetts.
